Register by 1st December 2017 for Crossing Boundaries 3 – a conference organised by the medical and social sciences divisions of the University of Oxford. The conference will showcase multidisciplinary research informing health systems strengthening in low and middle income countries. Participants have the opportunity to meet and share ideas with world-leading experts in the field from Oxford, Kenya and South Africa.
“The range of disciplinary areas being presented from engineering to social sciences and medicine, highlights the pioneering journey we are taking into understanding the sophisticated processes involved in delivering health care in low and middle income countries.” – Mike English, Professor of International Child Health, Oxford University.
The aim of the conference is to demonstrate Oxford University’s capacity to build on its world-class expertise in medicine and global health by developing cross-disciplinary collaborations in global health systems research.
“What are we supposed to be gaining from bringing more than one disciplinary lens to bear on the same problem? My talk will distinguish interdisciplinarity as collaboration; interdisciplinarity as contestation and interdisciplinarity as entropy.” Keynote speaker, Trish Greenhalgh, Professor of Primary Care Health Sciences, Oxford University.
